Russ Park tracks his Biblical activism back to the early ’80s, at the height of the pro-life movement. “I was waking up to what was abortion. I did my share of standing in front of clinics, doing other activist-type things, helping get a pregnancy center off the ground.” It’s a way of life that continues today. “I’m a Christian and I intend to act out my Christianity in the political arena. It has always been a part of who I am as far back as I can remember. It was not like an ‘Aha’ moment. It’s not easy for me to pin that down.”
Russ became an Affiliate leader at his church at the request of his pastors, who have long been involved with Biblical activism, frequently networking with other pastors and congregations. “We have patriot pastors, one and all, who are not afraid to preach the truth, regardless of its consequences. They have complete freedom to speak as God directs them.” The church also operates a Salt & Light booth, using the wide array of resources provided by The Salt & Light Council.
