If you are eager to share your faith, or just your choice for President, you risk disagreement or worse. Our differences, anymore, really boil down to politics, religion and a self-created animosity fueled by fake-news agitators. I am reminded of 1 Peter 3:14: “Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good, but if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed.”
Once upon a time, Democrats and Republicans worked together. They compromised for the greater good of society, and the media was fair and balanced. Now, media has chosen sides, and the political parties have moved to opposite corners with distinctly different values. As a result, when you know the written beliefs each actually holds, it becomes easy to pick one over the other.
Of course, the key question here begs, how are their written principles defined: Are they God-Biblical-Values or Man-Society-Values? To live in our world today, you have to decide and align yourself with one of the two.
Do you believe in God? If so, then you are saying you believe in the Bible and the Author of creation whose very nature sets His Divine Law. If you reject His Divinity, by default you accept someone else’s standard for society. Laws then become human enterprises open to interpretation by anyone’s agenda. Personally, I see only one of those two options where the Law is laid down and unmovable, as compared to the “law,” spelled with a little “l,” that is subject to change at the whim of whomever takes power.
Have you read the parties’ positions? Folks, before you align yourself with people, don’t you want to know them? The same holds true for both the Democrats and the Republicans. Find out their true histories, read their platforms, dig deep into what they want to do with our county. I have been both Democrat and Republican. Along the way, I found Jesus, and my eyes were opened to see one of the parties simply does not square, based solely on its own words.
